George Cornwall married Mary in about 1665. They initially lived at Rotherfield in Sussex where they had three children, all daughters, born in 1666, 1668 and 1671. They then moved to the adjacent parish of Buxted where they had one more child, a son, born in 1673. Later they moved to Framfield, another adjacent parish, where 28 years after the birth of their last child Mary died and was buried in the Churchyard of St Thomas à Becket in Framfield on 13 February 1701. Then a bit over 2½ years later George died and was buried in the Churchyard of St Thomas à Becket in Framfield on 19 November 1703.

 

 

 

George and Mary’s eldest child was Elizabeth Cornwall who was born at Rotherfield in Sussex and baptised at the Parish Church of St Denys in Rotherfield on 18 February 1666. When she was 25 years old Elizabeth married William Medhurst at the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in Ringmer, Sussex on 14 April 1691.

 

George and Mary’s second child was Mary Cornwall who was born at Rotherfield in Sussex and baptised at the Parish Church of St Denys in Rotherfield on 19 July 1668. When she was 25 years old Mary married Thomas Gates at the Parish Church of St Thomas à Becket in Framfield, Sussex on 10 April 1694. Thomas was then living at Warbleton in Sussex and Mary at Mayfield in Sussex. See the ‘The Gates Family’ for the rest of their lives and details of their family.

 

George and Mary’s third child was Sarah Cornwall who was born at Rotherfield in Sussex and baptised at the Parish Church of St Denys in Rotherfield on 12 February 1671. When she was just on 21 years old Sarah married William Comber at the Parish Church of St Michael in Lewes, Sussex on 7 January 1692; they were then living at Chiddingly in Sussex.

 

George and Mary’s fourth child was George Cornwall who was born at Buxted in Sussex and baptised at the Parish Church of St Margaret the Queen in Buxted on 27 May 1673. When he was just on 19 years old George married Mary Cook at the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin in Warbleton, Sussex on 26 April 1692. They lived at Framfield in Sussex where they had one child born in 1693. Mary died at Framfield and was buried in thee Churchyard of St Thomas à Becket in Framfield on 27 February 1725. Eight years later George died at Framfield, at the age of 60, and he was buried in Churchyard of St Thomas à Becket in Framfield on 28 June 1733.
