John Gaston married Mary Carter at the Parish Church of St Nicholas in Thames Ditton, Surrey on 26 November 1799, and they had six children born at Thames Ditton between 1802 and 1812.

 

 

 

John and Mary’s eldest child was Harriet Gaston who was born at Thames Ditton in Surrey on 1 April 1802, and baptised at the Parish Church of St Nicholas in Thames Ditton on 2 May 1802.

 

John and Mary’s second child was John Gaston who was born at Thames Ditton in Surrey on 13 November 1803, and baptised at the Parish Church of St Nicholas in Thames Ditton on 18 December 1803.

 

John and Mary’s third child was Sarah Gaston, also known as Sally, who was born at Thames Ditton in Surrey on 4 September 1805, and baptised at the Parish Church of St Nicholas in Thames Ditton on 6 October 1805. When she was 18 years old Sarah married 24-year-old Joseph Muddle at St Margaret the Queen Church in Buxted, Sussex on 3 November 1823. Joseph was the son of John and Mary Muddle; he had been born at High Hurstwood in Buxted Parish and baptised at St Margaret the Queen Church in Buxted on 27 October 1799. John and Mary’s fourth child was William Gaston who was born at Thames Ditton in Surrey on 25 July 1808, and baptised at the Parish Church of St Nicholas in Thames Ditton on 18 September 1808.

 

John and Mary’s fifth child was Richard Gaston who was born at Thames Ditton in Surrey on 9 April 1810, and baptised at the Parish Church of St Nicholas in Thames Ditton on 27 May 1810.

 

John and Mary’s sixth child was James Gaston who was born at Thames Ditton in Surrey on 20 March 1812, and baptised at the Parish Church of St Nicholas in Thames Ditton on 12 April 1812.
